Arrow began with a bold vision to form Christian leaders who would lead differently. First launched in the United States by Leighton Ford, that vision soon launched in Australia with Peter Corney, Stephen Hale, and Karl Faase.
For the past thirty years, we have been shaping leaders who are led more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus, and lead more to Jesus. Today, over 1000 leaders have been through Arrow programs in Australia, carrying that vision forward. Each one has a story. Each one has a ripple effect (‘the wake’ as Henry Cloud describes it in his book ‘Integrity’). And together, they form something extraordinary.
Arrow is more than a program. It is a community. One that stretches across generations, denominations and contexts. When you meet another Arrow leader, there is a sense of shared understanding and a bond that forms quickly. A recognition that you both carry something formed in prayer, honesty, challenge and joy.
As you read these stories, I invite you to celebrate. Celebrate the faithfulness of those who prayed, built, and gave so sacrificially. Celebrate the people who have poured into this ministry as staff, leaders, prayer partners, volunteers and donors. Celebrate the courage of leaders who have stepped out of their comfort zones to be formed in Christlike leadership.
And as we look to the future, I’m filled with hope. There is a growing need for wise, resilient, Kingdom-hearted leaders across the Church, schools, not-for-profits, businesses, and broader society. Arrow has a vital role to play in shaping and equipping them. I’m especially excited about our growing alumni network and the potential to draw on their wisdom and lived experience to impact the next generation.
